The Chevy S10, An Agile Compact Pickup Truck

When it was first introduced in 1982, the Chevy s10 wasn't as popular as General Motors had hoped it was going to be. GMC also released their S-15 model that year and later named it Sonoma. The s10 model only started gaining some serious attention in 1991 when they released the GMC Syclone which took the S10 and Sonoma's performance to a whole new level. Unfortunately the S10's journey recently ended in 2004 when GM released their new models (including the Colorado, Canyon, Isuzu i-Series.)

We refer to the S10 as the most agile pick up truck of all time simply because of the huge range of models Chevy eventually released. These included the S10 Extended Cab ZR2, S10 Crew Cab, and even the Extreme edition which became popular with the younger crowd.

The SUV Series of the Chevy S10 Trucks

GM Didn't waste any time and launched the SUV version of the Sonoma and S10 just a few months after the initial release of the trucks. The trucks, however, remained more popular most likely because they had only produced 2-door SUV models. It wasn't until 1990 that they actually took the hint and pushed out the 4-door versions which were a huge success and gave the s10 series another go at being the popular truck on the block.
